‘Jaane tu...‘ premiere turns the heat up | 2008-07-03
The Fashion Bitch had a good time doing the rounds!
Hello sugars, I had a great time yesterday.
I went for the ‘Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na‘ premiere and it was quite an eye-opener.
Why is that, you ask?
Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find that mature relationships do exist in the industry.
What I mean is that Aamir was there, his wife Kiran was there... and his ex-wife Reena was also there. Aamir and Reena were seen engrossed in conversations as well. I applaud them for being mature, because that‘s such a rare commodity in Bollywood.
Ok, now let‘s get to the fun.
There were a lot of people who gave me a chance to pick on them. But there were also many who didn‘t. Shenaz Treasurywala looked sexy in just a waistcoat and jeans.
I think there is an agenda on this girl‘s mind now that she has emerged out of hibernation.
Kudos to her.
Take a load of that slim figure...I like.
Sonam Kapoor looked classy in a blue dress and flats, and get this, even Rakhi Sawant looked passable-because I think Aamir told her to dress down for this. She was dressed quite soberly-with no extra cleavage showing.
Trust Aamir to discipline even the rowdiest of them all!
Mahima and her twin sister looked sweet and classy and Juhi Chawla was elegant in a white suit.
Imran‘s mum looked delish sugars. She is quite a stunner but his girlfriend Avantika, well, that‘s a completely different case all together.
Simply put, she looked as if you had stuffed an extra-large cushion into a small size cushion cover.
Am I being too mean?
No, because I really believe one should always dress according to their size. Take a look for yourself and decide.

Sulk, sulk. I know I love Imran and all that but if he had a cute girlfriend, I would have said so. This one is too much for me.
Imran himself looked quite a dapper young dude. He was wearing a grey suit with a purple shirt and was completely in control. Aamir mamu also looked handsome, but Kiran maami was simply drab.
Is this the best you can do Kiran?
A black dress, that doesn‘t even show off any of your assets.
Take a walk down the wild side darling, don‘t be too boring, otherwise you never know who Aamir will like next.
Ok, before my claws come out, let‘s move on. Our art house treasures Nandita Das and Tabu were poles apart. While Nandita looked sophisticated in her staple sari, Tabu was unshapely in a multicoured dress.
Genelia looked hot I have to say, but could the dress have been any tighter?
Give yourself some breathing space darling.
I guess she was in competition with Jiah Khan who surprisingly turned up in a loose maxi, looking just about okay but the choker really has to go.
For me, the evening‘s biggest disaster was Simone Singh. I think the need to follow international trends has gone a bit overboard.
The jumpsuit may be the in thing right now, but with hips like that, it‘s a big no-no. The red jumpsuit made her look larger than life and the belt at the waist just made it worse.
Please Simone, if you don‘t want to be our fashion faux pas of the month, throw away that jumpsuit. No, wait, give it to me.
