Another Ekta Kapoor farce | 2008-06-25
Relying a bit too much on past glory, isn't she?
Ekta kapoor has mocked the intelligence of the Indian audience for quite some time now and unfortunately, she‘s not yet finished.
Ekta is coming up with a new reality show called ‘Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket‘. The show is hyped with a slogan, ‘A glamorous world, an extravagant life, a celebrated name‘.
What Ekta really means is, ‘A fake world, a plastic life and a short-lived name‘.
The Bitch knows this dame like no one else!
There will be a bunch of TV stars who will be participating in the show. The lucky few who manage to win the show will land up getting lead roles in a multi-starrer Bollywood film, jointly produced by Balaji Telefilms Ltd and Popcorn Entertainment.
Quite convenient, The Bitch has to say.
All they need to do is put the winners on the screen for a few minutes and that‘s about it. The rest of the renowned names would take most of the limelight, anyway!
The Bitch remembers there were several reality shows like ‘Cinestars Ki Khoj‘ which churned out losers like Divyanka Tripathi, Aditi Sharma and the ‘Om Shanti Om‘ girl, Yuvika Choudhary. Rakhi Sawant‘s equally dramatic and asinine boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi too made his presence felt through this show.
Now when the show initially came into light, we thought there would be new and fresh faces but looks like the Ekta Kapoor camp has taken over this show too!
So much for a talent hunt!
There were auditions going on in all the 4 zones of the country and finally 12 participants have been finalised. Now, the twist in the tale is that those 12 participants will be paired with 12 celebrities, mostly from the Balaji camp!
So names like Raj Singh Arora,Chetan Hansraj, Krutika Sehgal, Twinkle Bajpai, Reshmi Gosh, Naman Shaw, Panchi Bora, Jai Bhanushali, Abigal, Karan Patel will get ample opportunities to show off their over hyped talents in the show.
The participants and the celebs would be divided into four zones and each couple will be given a character and a story to act out together. Every zone will have a Bollywood actor as a mentor who will personally guide and train the teams.
Basically, the idea is to create a lot of hullabaloo, even if there is hardly any substance in the show!
The mentors are Shabana Azmi for the East Zone, Amrita Singh for the North Zone, Mahesh Manjrekar for the West zone and Zeenat Aman for the Central zone.
Now that‘s a nice gesture; getting all the jobless people employment and some moolah to go with it!
