The title of the film ‘Dil Kabaddi‘ sounds like a local sports academy. What made Anil Sharma give such a weird title to this film?
The film was supposedly titled ‘Urban Tadka‘ first, and later changed to ‘Bubblegum‘, before the final title was given. Anil Sharma seems to be a big time foodie considering that his debut film is not going to be usual candyfloss as he claims.
Even Rahul Khanna, one of the actors of the film, was slightly puzzled on hearing the title. "I‘m not particularly overwhelmed by it. I think people are expecting it to be a raunchy sex-comedy but it‘s really just a light-hearted look at marriage and relationships in Mumbai.", says Rahul on being asked what he thinks about the title.
If the actors are so apprehensive about the film, may God embrace the audience.
While the story line seems to be sensible, will the film be able to draw the audience with such a weird title?
The star cast isn‘t that great either. Rahul Bose, Soha Ali Khan and Rahul Khana are all counting their last days in Bollywood. Item girl Payal Rohtagi, whose only claim to fame so far has been fighting like a stray alley cat in ‘Big Boss‘, is also there.
Irfaan Khan and Konkana Sen are the only saving grace in the film.
Soha Ali Khan should take the exit right away. Why is she sticking around for, despite not having a single hit to her credit, apart from ‘Rang De Basanti‘, which can aptly be called a Aamir Khan film?
On the whole, ‘Dil Kabaddi‘ appears to be another run of the mill film, which will hit the theaters and disappear even before the audience make-up their mind to watch it.
Here‘s one for them. ‘Kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi, kaput!‘
