The Bitch exposes the desperados behind the countdown shows
If you must have noticed lately, the various top ten countdown shows feature mediocre songs from films which you wouldn‘t even dare to catch, even if they were playing free on cable channels.
The Bitch investigated and discovered a shocking truth behind the strategies involved in fooling an average music lover.
Those wanting to hype their mediocre music (filmy or non-filmy) are working out a plan wherein they first buy bulk audio CDs-cassettes from various Planet M stores across the country.
Why only Planet M?
Well it is because it is the common link between ‘Mirchi Top 20‘ on FM channel Radio Mirchi and the music countdown show on Zoom TV- both of which belong to the Times Group. The top selling albums of the week automatically make it to the Mirchi Top 20 on the FM channel and more or less the same numbers are used for their countdown show on Zoom and this list also feature in their daily entertainment supplement.
So if a third rate album is picked in bulk from various Planet M stores across the nation, then technically it becomes one of the top selling albums for Planet M and invariably it ends up being a part of these two countdown shows which are pretty popular amongst music lovers.
Well, again the desperados don‘t just stop at that. They make sure that once their albums are out, every day innumerable calls or SMSes are made to radio stations demanding songs from the same film. The FM channels who are looking at providing alternative entertainment apart from 24/7 yak yak from irritating RJs and silly repetitive jingles have no option but to play these so called high in demand songs!
On further investigation The Bitch uncovered the more shocking truth that some of these jholers after buying music CDs of their films in bulk, remove the plastic foil and after repacking, stock it back to Planet M for sale again.
Wow, now that‘s some brains!
When The Bitch spoke to a Planet M branch official in Mumbai about the big game happening, he was shameless enough to reply (on condition of anonymity, of course), "What matters to us is the sales figures for our branch. It does not matter to us who buys the audio CDs and for what purpose! We are happy to see mega sales happening of some really pathetic albums which we would have taken off the shelves in one week of their release."
So all those true blue music aficionados tearing their hair in desperation wondering how the ‘Jimmy‘ number Marhaba made it to the top three for consecutive weeks or how a certain nasal singer /musician‘s album directly debuts on number one position every time his film or non-film album releases, breathe easy next time you come across such crap!

Babes, now this ain‘t true 100%. While I‘m not a huge fan of this so called nasal guy, but noone can deny the catchiness of his songs which made them instant hit...whatever the formula is, the results have been instant hit like fastfood which all eat even if they complain them to be unhealthy... | Pandit
