The Bitch's date with Raghav Sachar |  2008-06-25

He's planning to torment people by turning hero now!

Raghav‘s music career mightn‘t be going great guns but he refuses to lie low. He‘s aiming to make it big as a hero now! He‘s not worried about the fact that he‘s being already termed a panvati by film makers after the films he gave music to like ‘Kabul Express‘, ‘One Two Three‘ and the recent ‘Haal-E-Dil‘ bombed at the box-office.

The dedh futiya singer is now trying to change his luck the Himesh way. The Bitch presents a short tete-a-tete with the man himself!

The Bitch: By the way, which jackass told you that you can be an actor as well?

Raghav: I just love to face the camera. If you have seen, I have featured in all my music videos as well. I‘ve been grooming myself for acting for some time now. I think now is the right time. ‘Tum Milo To Sahi‘, I‘m sure shall be a proper launch and I am confident acting will also better my brand image.

The Bitch: Oh really? This guy refuses to step out of his fool‘s paradise at any cost!

The Bitch: So does that mean Ta Ta-Bye Bye to private albums now?

Raghav: Music has always been my first priority. My new album is called ‘Play It Aloud‘. I have got in a mix of retro, R N B and Hip Hop with my own signature style added to
it.

The Bitch: Does that mean more torture is around the corner?

The Bitch: Don‘t you think all your songs kinda sound the same?

Raghav: The specialty of my music lies in the kind of instruments I use. I do the entire designing of each of my songs myself. Perhaps it‘s my signature style that involves a lot of flute and saxophone which might be making you think so.

The Bitch: Now we know what makes the music so very lousy!

The Bitch: What made Aditya Chopra take the risk of signing a novice like you for ‘Kabul Express‘?

Raghav: ‘Kabul Express‘ was an experimental film by Yash Raj. Aditya wanted to experiment with the film‘s music as well. There were many established bigwigs trying to get this prestigious project but when Adi heard the title track I did for them, he gave me the entire album.

The Bitch: He must be regretting his decision, big time now!

The Bitch: But then you yourself proudly declared when you stepped into the music industry that you won‘t do any Bollywood music? How come you decide to eat your own words?

Raghav: See, that was three years ago. That time, I felt the music industry had stagnated and there was no chance for any fresh talent to make a mark here. But times have been changing. My first film, ‘Kabul Express‘ got me noticed and that is how I got this three film contract with Kumar Mangat.

The Bitch: Oh, so the clown is very proud of his pathetic work!

The Bitch: Apart from making music you also like to croon. Isn‘t one kind of torture enough for the listener?

Raghav: After my first album, an instrumental was out, I accepted the truth that instrumental music doesn‘t work in India. But it was out of sheer frustration that I have started signing. I got accolades for my singing in both-male and female voices for the ‘One Two Three‘ title track. Similarly, earlier even for ‘Kabul Express‘, after Adi heard my dummy recording he decided to use it for the film.

The Bitch: The joker will never learn from his mistakes.

The Bitch: Is it really true that you play 30 instruments? If it‘s so, don‘t you think it‘s better to concentrate on one like either giving music or playing it or singing or acting?

Raghav: I am an extremely moody person. Playing different instruments gives me a chance to express myself in more than one ways. It all depends on the kind of space I am at that moment and I just pick up the instrument apt for that.

The Bitch: So he plans to continue the torture as long as he can!
