Thoda rona...thoda dhona with a stupid angel, who dresses like a buffoon!
Director: Kunal Kholi
Actors: Saifu, Mukhu, Rishu, Amu and 4 cute kids
The Bitch‘s verdict: Kunal Kohli, this time even the angel can‘t help you!
Ameesha Patel can be hot. That‘s the one thing The Bitch figured out from this movie. Her publicised ‘guest appearance‘ is not a small role at all. She literally ‘figures‘ on the screen for quite a while, repeating her bimbette performance which she showed in ‘Honeymoon Travels‘, and is quite a laugh at it!
Probably the guest appearance tag is just to hide the fact that she was not getting a meatier role anywhere else, and had to take up whatever came her way. Check her out in the song ‘Yeh lazy lazy lamhe‘.
But on second thoughts, what‘s a song like this doing in a kiddy movie anyway?
The nanny plot has been used in several other movies. Think ‘Marry Poppins‘, ‘The Sound of Music‘ etc.
The nanny comes to a house infested with irritating children, befriends them by singing songs and doing magical things. Then it‘s time to melt the father‘s heart yada yada yada.
Our story is no different. Saif is stuck with the responsibility of the children, to be their guardian till the youngest of them turns 18, as he killed their parents in a freak accident. Obviously the children have a grudge against him and try to get even by playing silly tricks on him.
God (Rishi kapoor) notices these bewildering acts causing pain to both the parties involved. Saif, not being able to face the children, as he killed their parents. And the children, who have to share the same house with the guy who did this to them.
So he sends his favourite angel, who dresses like a clown, to sort matters out. And the rest as they say is boring history.
Saif doesn‘t have much to proclaim for in the movie. And it‘s not his fault, it‘s the role. He has to put up a restrained act for the most part of the move without giving much away. His expressions are the same as he plays a one dimensional character.
Frankly, even Akshaye Khanna would have been able to pull off such a role. Without the topless shots,of course (we don‘t want to see Akshaye without his shirt). Even in the end, when he goes through a personality change his mannerisms seem the same.
One quick suggestion. Dude your hairline‘s receding, time for those hair weaving sessions, we guess.
Rani burdens the responsibility of the movie to a certain extent. Her presence is gratifying only because she manages to pull it off so well.
But she has done roles like these earlier. One of the reasons why it seemed the role was written keeping her in mind. Even though the director had approached Kajol first!
Her look and her outfit are a washout, and I‘d love to read the Fashion Bitch‘s comments on that. She‘s looking old...way beyond her years and her layered outfit by Manish Malhotra, doesn‘t add to the cause.
Agreed nannies are poor, but are they so deprived that they wear the same thing day in and day out?
The children are the focal point of the movie. Apart from the eldest one who looks irritating, the other three are adorable and should have been given more screen space.
The sardar (is he really a one or not?) cracks you up quite often and he is definitely going to earn more gandhijis for his Mummy Papa in the years to come, through advertisements and more movies.
There is also the aspect of animation, which hasn‘t bettered after ‘Ta Ra Dumb Dumb‘ something which The Bitch expected since it‘s a Yash Raj movie. In music, a couple of songs are worth the earplugs, but not meant for long.
Overall, only if you have children aged above 4 and below 10, this movie is worth the effort. Otherwise even if you want to make-out with your BF/GF in the corner seat, there are better movies to opt for.

The Bitch Went Wrong!
always love what the Bitch writes, but this time feel like calling the bitch a real BITCH. The movie is awesome and it rocks, Rani looks fab and acts fab. Ameesha has done her part really well. The role suits Saif perfectly. Overall the Bitch got too busy finding points to bitch that she missed out enjoying such an amazing film meant for the whole family.... | zaini
